The first village on the path is the namesake of this land, “Barovia.” A desperate village in the looming shadow of Castle Ravenloft. On their way to the village, the adventurers found a dead courier with a letter. Only later will they find that this man held the original document, and they were given a counterfeit to lure them into the lands.
Looking for a place to stay, we get weird vibes from the people on the streets. A woman is knocking on doors. An old man recommends to go to the Inn on the main street and tells us about previous adventurers who came here for treasures and died. Then he says: “Leave me to my Dream Pastry”.
